Abstract submission
Abstract Submission is now closed.
All submitted abstracts are currently being reviewed and Authors will be notified of their outcome by 5th May 2008.
Welcome to WSAVA/FECAVA’s Abstract/Free Communication submission pages
Research Abstracts and Free Communications are considered to be an extremely valuable component of the annual WSAVA Congress. They consist of a series of 12-minute oral presentations (plus 3 minutes for discussion) on recent research into various aspects of clinical medicine and surgery.
In addition to clinical research, preliminary findings and unique case reports of exceptional interest are also considered. Abstracts which state “results will be presented” will be immediately rejected. Accepted abstracts are published in conjunction with the Congress Proceedings.
Submissions are only accepted online and must be completed by 5pm on 1st April 2008. Late abstracts will not be accepted under any circumstances. We therefore advise completing your submission ahead of the deadline, so that you can let us know if you are having any difficulties. All will be peer-reviewed, and if accepted the submitting author will be offered free registration for the day of presentation of the abstract only. Registration is non-transferable. Submissions will be accepted as oral presentations only. The reviewers’ decision is final, and if the abstract is not accepted, feedback will not be given.
You are welcome to submit more than one abstract.
Presentation of a Clinical Research Abstract at Congress 2008 will entitle the presenting author to free registration on the day of presentation.
If there are problems with abstract submission, further help can be obtained from carmel.mooney@ucd.ie
Notes for submitting:
- The abstract must be submitted by the presenting author
- Abstracts must be written in U.K. English
- Content must not exceed 400 words. It is strongly recommended that you prepare the title and content of your abstract using a word processor, and copy and paste this text into the template provided. Typographical errors will not be corrected, and abstracts which are poorly presented will be rejected. It is advisable that your word document only contains ‘normal’ text – not formatted in ‘headings’ etc. You can, however, edit it once you have pasted it into the content field online
- Do NOT include references in the abstract
- Abstracts must NOT have been presented elsewhere prior to presentation at WSAVA/FECAVA Congress. Papers, reports or articles containing the work submitted in the abstract must not have been accepted for publication prior to submission of the abstract. If the submitting author breeches these conditions, all abstracts from that author will be automatically rejected. The submitting author will also be required to a pay for registration to WSAVA/FECAVA Congress
- The presenting author must be available to present the abstract on any date during the WSAVA/FECAVA Congress: changes cannot be made to the timetable to accommodate individuals
- The presentation at WSAVA/FECAVA Congress must concentrate on the data in the abstract: particularly, presenters who present material other than the abstract submitted will be requested not to continue their presentation and asked to leave
- Registration cannot be transferred from the presenting author to another individual
